Mike Conti I graduated from Husson University in 1972 where I received a Bachelor Degree in Business. I moved to the Washington, DC area shortly after graduation. I landed my first job with a CPA firm as a staff accountant. My degree didn't qualify me to take the CPA exam so i added some additional accounting credits by attending the University of Maryland at night. I spent 3 years with the firm then moved on to a larger firm. I spent the next 25 years there. I was admitted as a partner in 1981 and became the managing partner in the mid 1990's. In the late 1990's we sold the firm to American Express where I spent the next 5 years as a Managing Director. I finished my career as the Chief Operating Officer of a large dry cleaning company. The company was a long time client from my CPA days. I retired in 2011. We've traveled a fair amount over the years. We've covered the USA from coast to coast. There's still a lot of the USA to see. We've been to Europe many times. When we can we like to rent a house or apartment and live with the natives. We've cruised the Caribbean, Bermuda, Greek Islands and Rhine River. Vermont, Washington, DC and Maryland. We currently live in Maryland just outside of Washington, DC. None. Thank you to those of you who have served our country. I worked as a carpenter for a short time before moving to Washington, DC. Retired. I still do some tax work for a local financial planning firm. None worth mentioning. I did have a basement full of softball trophies but I tossed them a few years ago. I met my wife in 1990 at a party for the CYO coaches. I liked to coach my children's sports teams. Before that I was married for 12 years to a woman I met at my first job. We had two children. I have two children, Ami who is 40 years old and Andy who is 38 years old. I also have a step daughter, Amanda, who is also 40. Amanda was 11 when we first met and we enjoy a true father/daughter relationship. Sadly we have no grandchildren yet. If something doesn't happen soon I'm going to rent some! All of them are doing well in their lives and careers. There's not a single tattoo on any of them that I know of. It's interesting that the hobbies I listed on my first resume in 1972 are still my hobbies. They are cooking, sports and music. I've added a few more since then. I enjoy working with my hands making and restoring things. I have made wine for many years but do not any longer. I even established a small vineyard once that was a miserable failure. At least it's off my bucket list. I collect memorabilia from the 1950's and 1960's. My man cave is stuffed with old signs, candy machines, electro mechanical games like puck bowlers, pinball and shooting gallery. You'll also find an old phone booth, juke box, movie marquees, pop corn machine, barber pole and diner furniture. Oops, I almost forgot the kiddie car. I still remember the details of winning the state baseball championship against Burlington in 1967. My wife put my jacket from that game in a shadow box than hangs in my office at home. We belong to a country club that's only 2 miles from our home. We enjoy frequent rounds of golf and socializing with our friends. All of them. Whether I loved them, hated them or feared them they all worked to push us in the right direction. Not really. 2018-02-28 11:00:22
